Every year when it comes time to start Christmas shopping, I find myself wracking my brain to think of creative gift ideas that will be meaningful to each of the people on my list. I do my best to avoid getting something just to get something (a trap I tend to fall into when I’m rushed). Rather, I want to know that what I give will truly be enjoyable or useful to the person receiving it.
One of my favorite ways to ensure a gift is meaningful, is by having at least part of the gift be something I know will benefit the most meaningful part of a person’s life: their relationship with God.
Accordingly, I decided to compile this list of Christian gift ideas in case you’re looking to give a gift that will encourage someone in their walk with God as well. These are three things I personally use that have been the most significant tools in my life in terms of drawing me closer to God. They just so happens to make wonderful gifts as well! Even if you have something else in mind to give to someone on your list, one of these could be the perfect item to complete your gift and make it all the more meaningful to the person receiving it. I truly believe a gift that will help draw someone closer to God is the very best gift you can give.

1. ABIDE BIBLE STUDY JOURNAL
I have been using S.O.A.P Bible Study method for years now and I truly cannot tell you how much my time in God’s Word has benefited from it. The Abide Bible Study Journal is simple, stunning, and it walks you through the S.O.A.P. method in a way that causes you to linger longer and notice things in Scripture you might otherwise overlook. The point isn’t to get through God’s Word, it’s to get God’s Word through you! My time in the Bible has been most fruitful since I’ve been using the Abide Bible Study Journal—I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read a passage and felt unsure of what it meant or what I could take away from it…then used this journal to study it more in-depth and as a result, experienced God speak in a powerful way. Can’t recommend enough!
2. HOSANNA REVIVAL JOURNALING BIBLE
What better way to encourage someone who is wanting to read the Bible more than by giving them one? The mission of Hosanna Revival is to encourage women to engage Scripture by creating beautiful and intentional tools—and that’s precisely why I love them. They create beautiful hand-painted and printed journaling Bibles and with a variety of styles I think it’s such a beautiful way to personalize a Bible and get someone excited about digging into it. All of their designs are stunning.
3. DAILY GRACE CO. DEVOTIONAL
Last but not least: devotionals! This is one of my favorite go-to’s in gift giving if I have most a person’s gift figured out already, but need one last thing to complete it. I love this idea because it’s a great way to personalize a gift to the season someone is in, a topic they are dealing with, or an area they are wanting to grow in. For example, several times when a friend of mine has become a mom within the year, I’ve gotten her a devotional on motherhood. The Daily Grace Co. is one of my favorite places to buy devotionals because they are biblically-based, affordable, and they offer a wide variety of study topics including waiting on God, anxiety, the fruit of the spirit, the Sermon on the Mount, and also studies on specific books of the Bible (1 Peter, Ruth, Psalms, and Romans to name a few). I’m currently going through their Daughters of Grace study with some friends—it focuses on what we can learn about God through studying the stories of women all throughout the Bible, and I’ve been learning so much!
I hope this gives you some helpful ideas as you start your Christmas shopping this year—and if you’re looking to grow closer to God during this hectic holiday season and as we start a new year, maybe you’ll grab one of these things for yourself too.
P.S. If you’re looking for highlighters to use as you study the Bible, I highly recommend these Bible highlighters. They won’t bleed through thin Bible pages, they have the cutest colors, and I like to use them on everything—my Bible, my Abide Bible Study Journal and in my devotionals sometimes too. They’d make a perfect stocking stuffer! Check out the video below to see how I use them to study the Bible.
